Walt Disney Magnet School PTA

If you’d like to help make the Disney Magnet School a better place, our PTA accept donations via paypal. All monies received go directly to PTA programs and events.  Last year we provided free field trips to every child in the school, books for every classroom, and produced a monthly Night Out movie event that helped foster the school community.

Thanks so much for your generosity!

Holiday Theme Week

It is the last week of school, and Disney Magnet School is going for a sense of winter spirit and good cheer.  All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in Holiday Theme Week.  Please make sure that all items worn HOLIDAY_THEME_WEEKare suitable for school and the weather forecast of the day.

Deep green and red bows of the season inspire the first day.  Wear red and green to start off the theme week!

Wear your festive holiday bling “lighting up” the hallways like the sparkling lights you see outside.  Wear shiny colors of silver and blue!

Come to school decked out in red and white (or just any kind of stripe!)

‘Tis the season o’ traditions.  Wear your ugly sweaters, holiday shirts or other holiday themed items.

The best part of holiday break is spending more time in your comfortable pajamas.  Come to school in your favorite pajamas to get the season started early!

Apply to Disney for Next Year!

The deadline for application for next year admission to Chicago Public Schools is Friday, December 22.

This deadline applies to students entering high school, as well as elementary school.

Apply to CPS

Click here to go to the GoCPS website.

8th grade parents, please be sure that you have completed applications that you want to submit, and that any additional information that you need from the school staff (teachers or counselors) has been requested in writing. You will need to allow time for these supporting documents to be prepared.

All application information and materials for the elementary Magnet School application are online at Go.cps.edu. The Walt Disney Magnet School code is 8000DH.

If you are applying for a child who already has a brother or sister at Walt Disney, be sure that you include the sibling’s name and id number on the application.  It matters!

Good luck!

If you want an opportunity to have your child’s individual school picture taken, or if there was a problem with your previous picture order, you will have an opportunity to have your child do a new picture on the morning of Wednesday, December 13.
If this is a new order, you will need to get the order envelope from the main office and return it with payment by the morning of December 13

If you want your child’s pictures retaken due to a problem with the earlier order, you need to return the entire picture package, except for the class picture. Please direct the returned package to the main office, so we know that we will need to pull the child from class to have a photo taken the morning of December 13.
