Students in Miss Williams class have started a food drive for the Lake View Pantry. They announced their idea on their Instagram account.
The drive, which will run through June 14, is asking students to bring in canned or boxed food items to donate to the Lakeview Pantry, a non-profit organization that is one of Chicago’s oldest and largest food pantries. Last year they distributed over 1.4 millon meals to people in need.
Here’s a video about LakeView Pantry from 2017.
Please bring in a canned or boxed unexpired item for the food drive.
You can also donate directly to the cause, which is helpful as LVP gets discounts on bulk food, so they can really stretch a dollar.
The students have set a goal of $1500 in donations (approximately $1 per student) Let’s help them exceed their goal!
